I find this book a wonderful resource for embroidery, crazy quilting, and mixed media fibre art. The range of information Montano presents is excellent. She covers individual embroidery stitches, composite stitches, silk ribbon embroidery, stitching for left-handers, crazy quilt applications and free form stitching. The instructions are systematic and easy-to-follow; Montano writes with a broad audience in mind, and her book is reader friendly, right down to the covered coil binding. My favourite thing about the book? It is just so beautiful to look at! I love looking at the photos and illustrations that appear throughout the text, and the watercolour illustrations in the free form stitchery section are beautiful and inspiring. The pictures are gorgeous, the diagrams are clear, and the whole thing breathes "elegance."
